Who We Help
We support autistic children and youth in Mississauga (toddlers to teens). We also work with families who are exploring assessment or waiting for services. Our team partners with caregivers, schools, and other clinicians to build skills that matter at home, at school, and in the community.
Common goals we target:
Communication (requesting, labeling, expanding language)
Daily living (toileting, dressing, feeding)
Social & play skills (taking turns, sharing, group readiness)
School readiness (following routines, attention, transitions)
Behaviour support (tantrums, rigidity, elopement, self‑regulation)
Safety skills (street safety, community outings)
We use respectful, child‑centred practices and collaborate with caregivers at every step.
How ABA Works at OBSS
1) Free consultation – A short call to learn about your child and answer funding/service questions.
2) Intake & assessment – A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) reviews history, observes your child, and conducts a strengths‑based skills assessment.
3) Individualized plan – Your BCBA designs goals and a teaching plan tailored to your priorities.
4) Therapy sessions – Delivered by trained therapists with ongoing BCBA supervision and data‑driven adjustments.
5) Caregiver coaching – We share strategies and simple home routines so progress carries over beyond sessions.
6) Review & next steps – Regular progress reviews; goals evolve with your child.
Settings: In‑home across Mississauga or at our centre in downtown Mississauga (near Square One/Cooksville). Virtual parent coaching is also available.
In‑Home vs In‑Centre
In‑Home vs In‑Centre
In‑Home ABA
Natural routines (mealtimes, bedtime, homework)
Caregiver participation in real contexts
Great for daily living, behaviour, and generalization
In‑Centre ABA
Structured teaching environment
Access to peer interaction & group readiness
Ideal for learners preparing for preschool/school
Many families blend in‑home and in‑centre for the best of both settings.
What Makes OBSS Different
BCBA‑Supervised: Programs are designed and overseen by a BCBA; therapists receive ongoing training and supervision.
No Waitlist: Start dates available now; evening & weekend sessions.
Collaborative: We coordinate with schools, SLP/OT clinicians, and paediatricians as needed (with consent).
Data‑Driven & Kind: We track progress weekly and use positive, dignified teaching strategies.
