In practice, it breaks complex skills into small steps and then uses positive reinforcement to encourage meaningful behavioural change.
First, a BCBA completes a comprehensive assessment of your child's strengths and needs. Next, we build an individualized treatment plan with your family. Finally, therapy sessions begin at our ABA therapy center, in your home, or both, and we track progress with data at every step.
ABA therapy isn't covered by OHIP. However, it can be funded through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), where families can receive Core Clinical Services or Foundational Family Services funding. OBSS also helps families navigate OAP eligibility and the full application process. In addition, private insurance may partially cover services.
